USCIS Reports 2.2M Enforcement Actions Since Jan. 2025, Including Work Auth Changes
USCIS · United States · Oct 29, 2026
USCIS announced it has taken approximately 2.2 million immigration enforcement actions since January 20, 2025, including revoking or terminating immigration status, denying nonimmigrant status extensions, and ending automatic extensions of Employment Authorization Documents (EADs). The agency also terminated categorical parole programs and is now requiring case-by-case review for parole grants. For staffing firms, the end of automatic EAD extensions and tightened work authorization renewal screening directly affects the employability of large segments of the contingent workforce, requiring more rigorous I-9 re-verification and closer monitoring of client workers' authorization status.
